Sheffield confirmed in ‘High’ category

New restrictions for Sheffield have been announced by the Government in a move to further prevent the spread of the virus across the city. The new measures will mean a ban on different households mixing and are expected to be introduced in Sheffield from tomorrow (Wednesday 14).  However, Sheffield City Council advises that everyone in the city should follow the new restrictions immediately.

Being named an area of ‘enhanced support’ means that Sheffield is now on the second rung of a three-step ladder on the Government's 'watchlist', and we are in line to receive extra support to help us reduce the number of cases in our city.

Library Services October update

We’ve been providing an Order and Collect service in a number of libraries since early August so that as many people as possible could borrow books and resources across the city. The correct Covid-19 measures are in place so that all libraries are as safe as possible. Every library building is slightly different and naturally the most important part of reopening has been about safety.

The NHS test and trace national booking system is reaching capacity. This is due to laboratory testing reaching national capacity on the day. If you have COVID-19 symptoms and you need to book a test, please continue to do so. However, you may experience a delay in being able to book a test using the national system. If you can’t get a test on the day, please try again later or try the next day. Please listen to the guidance you are provided at the point of arranging a booking. Testing remains a vital part in our fight against the spread of Covid-19 in our city and to help reduce the rate of people contracting the virus.
