An update on planned strike action from Veolia waste and recycling workers

Today, following a meeting between Veolia and the GMB it was announced that the planned strike action on Monday 1st November from Veolia waste and recycling workers is suspended.

Councillor Terry Fox, Leader of Sheffield City Council said, 

“It’s really positive to hear that GMB and Veolia are continuing to talk and that the planned strike action by waste and recycling staff has been suspended. We hope the situation can ultimately come to a positive conclusion for all involved.

“Waste collection workers play such an important role in our city and it’s important that the invaluable service they provide is kept running.
