Businesses in Sheffield can now apply for a lockdown business support grant.
Council approves over a thousand Covid-19 business support grants
Sheffield City Council has received nearly 4,000 applications for business support grants to aid small local businesses affected by Coronavirus.
All applications are currently being processed as quickly as possible, with over 1,200 approved for payment so far, totalling over £14m.
The Council is advising businesses to expect a processing time of up to 10 days before payment can be confirmed.
It is also asking business owners to check they have completed the application form correctly and all necessary evidence has been provided before submitting the application, to help avoid delays.
Councillor Mazher Iqbal, Cabinet Member for Business and Investment at Sheffield City Council, said:
“We know that the business support grants are vitally important in keeping the cash flow going for many small businesses at this time, and we’re working very hard to make the process as quick and smooth as possible.
“If you have any problems or questions about the grant, please visit our website or speak to our business advisers who can give you further guidance.”
