Mums from across the city have sent in real life accounts of their breastfeeding journey, with some only just embarking on their journey and others four years in.

Milly from Sheffield is a mum of three and details her experience of breastfeeding her children.

Councillor Jackie Drayton, Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Families and Baby Safe Champion at Sheffield City Council said:

“I’m proud to be one of the  Baby Safe Champions in Sheffield, and the breastfeeding ambassador.  Research shows that breastfeeding is best both for mum and baby. It’s good for health, convenient, free and helps mums lose weight and I’d encourage all new mums to do it. I know that breastfeeding is not always easy so that’s why we have support and help for new mums across the City

“It’s fantastic that new mums have taken time to submit vlogs of themselves talking about their experiences and sharing their stories. There can be many highs and lows with breastfeeding and hopefully these real-life accounts will encourage new mums, give them tips and help them see the advantages to breastfeeding.’
