Mark Bennett, Director of HR and Customer Services at Sheffield City Council, said:
“In October, John Mothersole announced he would be retiring from his role of Chief Executive of Sheffield City Council.
“In line with our constitutional and democratic processes, a panel of Elected Members are recommending the appointment of Charlie Adan, an experienced interim Chief Executive who will provide stability and continuity until a permanent Chief Executive is appointed, which could take up to six months.
“It is vital that we appoint someone with the experience required for this role, providing a strong level of leadership and expertise in shaping and delivering member priorities within a large local authority organisation.
“The recruitment of a permanent position is now underway.”
