Councillors come together to share message of compassion and solidarity
A joint message from the Labour Party, Liberal Democrats, Green Party and Sheffield Community Councillors
Sheffield is known as a welcoming and richly diverse city.
There is no place for hate on our streets and in light of the recent events across the country, councillors at Sheffield City Council have come together in unity with a shared message of compassion, solidarity, and determination.
The events of recent days have caused pain and terror in our city. We understand all too well the impact that far-right hatred and division can have on our communities. We stand firmly against all forms of racism, discrimination, and violence. Sheffield has a proud history as a City of Sanctuary and it is crucial that we work together to foster understanding, respect, and mutual support.
We commit to addressing these issues head-on, promoting equality and peace for our residents.
