The first annual day of reflection to remember those lost to Covid took place at the Covid Memorial willow tree sculpture in Balm Green Gardens on Sunday 3rd March.

The event was open to all and started with a minute’s silence at 12 noon, introduced by Councillor Tom Hunt, Leader of Sheffield City Council, followed by a collection of speeches and reflections.

Those attending included The Lord Mayor of Sheffield, representatives from organisations, including those awarded small grants for Covid memorial activity in 2023, people who lost loved ones, and those people whose stories are featured in the Sheffield documentary ‘Stories from the Pandemic’ - HOME | Stories from the Pandemic (sheffieldstoriesfromthepandemic.com)
