Development of a new city-wide major events strategy has been given the go ahead.
First-ever Crossed Wires Podcast Festival kicks off this weekend
Crossed Wires Festival will bring the nation's top names in podcasting to Sheffield, for one very special weekend.
From Friday 31st May to Sunday 2nd June, Sheffield's most iconic venues will be packed for blockbuster lives shows, never-seen-before performances and special guests - all hosted by the biggest names in podcasting, across comedy, current affairs, culture, sport, family and wellbeing.
Sheffield's Bethel Chapel, which was once home to the beloved Cole Brothers toyshop, will be the venue for Crossed Wires Festival, The Fringe, a free event to the public, before it opens as a new music venue later this year.
The redevelopment of Bethel Chapel, which dates back to the mid 19th century, forms part of the massive £470million Heart of the City development. The Sheffield City Council development aims to transform the city centre and breathe new life back into iconic buildings, like this one.
