Independent Tree Panel work complete

10 July 2017

Following the completion of all their work, Sheffield City Council has issued a letter of thanks to the Independent Tree Panel for providing advice to the Council on streets where trees are due to be replaced as part of the Streets Ahead programme.

The Independent Tree Panel, chaired by Andy Buck, was set up to give advice on street tree replacement proposals where the majority of households who responded to the surveys disagreed with the proposal for their street. The panel have now provided advice on all referred streets and their work has finished.

Councillor Bryan Lodge, Cabinet Member for Environment and Street Scene at Sheffield City Council, said: “I would like to thank each member of the panel for the work that they have done to visit the streets concerned and provide advice to us on the trees that were referred.

“The panel remained impartial and professional throughout and provided a valuable service to us and Sheffield’s residents, and for that we are very grateful.”

Details of the survey results, the streets referred to the panel, and the panel’s final reports have been published at www.sheffield.gov.uk/home/roads-pavements/managing-street-trees
