If you’re looking for a great place in Sheffield city centre to catch all the sporting events, you can watch, play, eat and drink from next month when sports bar and kitchen, BOX, opens in the Gaumont Building at Barker’s Pool.

BOX Sheffield will open on 23 November, offering a mix of live sports, interactive games and live entertainment. The venue, spread across two floors, will feature 30 large HD TV screens and the biggest indoor screen in the city, alongside a raised stadium-style seating area.

Hailed as the ‘ultimate sports bar experience’, it will be the latest venture to join the food and drink scene in Sheffield, bringing an investment of £2.7m and creating 55 new jobs.

As well as watching the latest sporting events, guests will also be able to enjoy the Big Box Quiz every Thursday, live bands on Friday and Saturday showcasing local talent and private karaoke rooms.

With the new sports bar and kitchen opening its doors in the lead-up to Christmas, BOX Sheffield will also offer festive menus and special seasonal offers, creating the perfect way to start celebrating the yuletide season.

Councillor Ben Miskell, Chair of the Transport, Regeneration and Climate Policy Committee at Sheffield City Council, said: “I’m delighted to welcome BOX sports bar and kitchen as another fantastic addition to Heart of the City. Joining the many new hospitality venues, shops and offices that are opening up throughout the city centre. The latest venue for Arc Inspirations is also a great boost in creating new jobs and investment in Sheffield City Centre.”

Martin Wolstencroft, CEO of Arc Inspirations, said: “Sheffield’s rich sporting heritage and passionate community make it the perfect home for BOX, and we’re excited to introduce a new kind of venue to this vibrant city.

Andrew Davison, Project Director at Queensberry, added: “We’re excited to welcome BOX to the award-wining Heart of the City redevelopment scheme in the historic location of the Gaumont Building with its new contemporary design. It fits perfectly with the venue being a leisure destination, bringing further vibrancy back into our city centre and creating another must-visit place within Sheffield.”
