Tour of Britain Men 2024: Encouraging Active Travel

Sheffield to set to kick off third leg of 2024 Lloyds Bank Tour of Britain Men, later this week (5th September).

The city is changing and improving all the time with a focus on Active Travel, urging people to leave their cars at home and jump on a bike as part of our Cycle Boost project.

The Council is also installing around 12 kilometers of segregated or improved cycle routes across the city with our ambition to connect Sheffield to Rotherham, plus much more.

The city's first ever Dutch-style roundabout at West Bar will be completed in October, prioritising cyclists, and regeneration work is due to begin at Sheffield's Parkwood Springs to expand the areas mountain bike trails - making the city a regional destination for mountain biking in the future.

In the lead up to the Tour of Britain Men event on Thursday, Sheffield will also be putting a Community Cycling Festival, as well as cycling competitions across the city.

The Tour of Britain Men’s race is going to be fantastic opportunity to see these amazing athletes so get out and see them if you can and be inspired to join them in the saddle.
